Local schools take part in 'Let's Sing' programme
120 children sang together at the Foy Centre in Carlingford to celebrate the end of the Let's Sing Programme.
The concert, organised by Music Generation Louth, featured a collection of songs from around the world performed by students from St Oliver's, Monksland and Muchgrange National Schools.
The Carlingford performance was one of four concerts done in association with Music Generation Louth, Ireland's new national programme for music education. There were also performances in Dundalk, Dorgheda and Ardee. A total of 450 students from 12 schools across Louth participated in the project.
Director of the programme, Rosaleen Molloy, and Chairperson of their Board of Directors, Tony O'Dalaigh, accompanied family and friends to support the young singers. Molloy congratulated everyone involved on the successful initiative and commended the children on their fantastic singing.
