Just Mustard release album on local label
Local band Just Mustard have become the first band to release a record on the newly formed Dundalk label, Pizza Pizza Records.
The band's debut album 'Wednesdays' is the first record from Pizza Pizza Records, the label formed specially to give local bands the opportunity to release albums on vinyl.
Just Mustard, comprising singer/guitarist David Noonan, guitarist Mete Kalyon, singer Katie Ball, bass guitarist Rob Clarke and drummer Shane Maguire, have been together for six years.
During that time they have built up a loyal following of fans which has been steadily growing since the release of their singles and highly acclaimed EP earlier.
'We recorded 'Wednesdays' over the past seven or eight months,' says Mete. 'We did most of it ourselves here in Dundalk but worked with Chris Ryan of Start Together Studio in Belfast for the drum tracks. We produced the album ourselves along with Chris.' Now they are about to take their music on a nationwide tour, starting in The Spirit Store on Saturday May 19th with support by Dundalk band L'Arry and Hot Cops from Belfast.
They will be playing some of the country's top venues including the Roisin Dubh in Galway, Pharmachia in Limerick, Bello Bar in Dublin, and the Harbour Bar in Bray.
They are also looking at playing some festivals during the summer months but have nothing confirmed yet.
'Wednesdays' is available on vinyl from Classified Records and is live on Bandcamp and all streaming services.
