IFTA 2017 nomination for director Ian
The short film Gridlock directed by local man Ian Hunt Duffy has been nominated for an IFTA Irish Film and Drama Awards 2017 for best action short.
Nominations were short listed by Irish Academy members alongside a specialist jury panel of industry experts from around the world, and the winners will be announced at the annual awards ceremony taking place at the Round Room of the Mansion House on Saturday April 8.
The film, a thriller set during a traffic jam on a country road, is already on the long list for next year's Academy Awards having picked up numerous prizes on the international festival circuit.
Gridlock has been named as the awardee for most inspiring short film at the 17th Irish Film Festival taking place in Boston from March 23 to 26. It will be screened at Somerville Theatre on March 23.
