The pride of the Dundalk traditional music world - Faoi Gheasa - the lads from De La Salle College - are proving to be a big hit on the national stage.

Under the guidance of teacher Pamela Campbell, the musicians won this year's School Stars at the TLT in Drogheda and have enjoyed a great reputation since then. On St. Patrick's Day they were invited to perform on TV3 and during the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann in Drogheda they got the chance to open the show for Sharon Shannon at the TLT. They also performed at the Gig Rig in front of thousands of enthusiastic new fans.

Currently they have reached the All Ireland final of ComortasBeo 2018, Oireachtas na Samhna  to be held in Killarney on the 1st November featuring  their origional song 'Cailin an Ghorta'. It was composed and written by Faoi Gheasa with the assistance of Ms Campbell. 'Cailin an Ghorta' is written about the Famine in Ireland and is accompanied by a video that can be viewed on Youtube.
