Excellent night enjoyed by all at Gerard's 30th
Castle Bar the venue for special party night
On Saturday night I headed for the Castle Bar where a special 30th birthday party was being held for Gerard Shields from Lis na Dara and there to make sure he had an excellent night were his family Andrew, Mickey and Vicky as well as girlfriend Ciara Murphy from Lis Na Dara and a huge collection of family and friends.
Gerard, who is a main money man in PayPal was up for making a night of it and sent me over to talk to Karen O'Neill from Clondalkin and Michelle Murray from Cavan who were all set for a major night of fun with Ciara's brothers Peadar and Kevin Murray all from Cavan who wanted to wish Gerard all the best on his big night.
Not too far away I then had the pleasure of talking to Gerard's brother Michael who was up for making the best of the party with Fiona Woods both from Oaklawns and they agreed it was going to be a fantastic night.
After this I caught up with Dearbhla and Ciaran Rabbitte from Blackrock who were with Paul Smyth who had travelled over from Castleblaney specially to be there with their good friend Gerard on his special night.
Not too long later I got a word with Vicky McKeown from Haggardstown who was with Gerard's brother Andrew also from Haggardstown who said they'd been out the previous night for a few and were struggling to find their feet, but were optimistic the night would be as good as the Friday.
Making my way over to another table I had the pleasure of talking to Erin Fergus from Lower Point Road, Lucy Gilsenan from Oldcastle, who was with Adam Matthews from Drogheda and Katriona Quinn from Distillery Lane with Dave McLoughlin from Newry Road who are all mates of Gerard's and were going to make sure he had a totally mad one.
Beside them I then caught up with Antoinette McEnteggart from Seafield Lawns, Carly Faulkner from Muirhevnamor and Kate Wynne from Knockbridge who are all workmates of Gerard's in Paypal and I had to apologise profusely to Antoinette who is in fact single, and not married to her cousin, like I inferred the last time we met, sorry Antoinette!
After this I headed over for a quick word with Shane Carolan and Krin Burkart both from Greenore and Lisa Reitmeier from Ravensdale who also work with Gerard and wanted to wish him a very happy 30th and they were on for a major night of celebrations.
Finally, before I departed I got talking to Dave McLoughlin from Distillery Lane who was chatting to the delightful Meghan Darcy from Manydown Close whom, when I asked them, were prepared to say they were old friends of Gerard's but weren't willing to divulge much more!
