DkIT creative graduates showcase work at FiS 2018

The annual Fis exhibition is one of the most eagerly anticipated events for students at the

Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music at Dundalk Institute of Technology. The exhibition, which opens in the Carroll Building on Wednesday showcases the work of final year students in the

Communications, Film and Television Production, Music Production and Media Arts and Technologies courses. It gives the students the opportunity to showcase their work with family, friends and industry representatives who will be in attendance at the launch.

The projects, installations and films being exhibited and screened will represent the diverse creative skills of the students and are of interest to a wide audience.

Dr Adèle Commins, Head of Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music, said: 'The exceptionally high standard of work created by our final year students which represents the strength of the Creative Arts in DkIT. We are thrilled to be sharing and celebrating the achievements of our students. We are confident that the skills learned during their programme of study at DkIT will provide them with the necessary skills to gain employment within the creative industries. We look forward to following their careers.'

Curator for Fís 18, Fiachra Ó Cuinneagáin notes that 'Fís is the highlight of the year for these students. It provides a platform to showcase their hard work and talent, not only to their classmates but also to their family and friends and the wider creative industries sector. It's also a really social event with great energy, one we all look forward to.'

Fis is to the public on Wednesday from 6pn to 9pm and on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm.
