Convoy to Peninsula ploughing a fantastic weekend of entertainment

The weekend of August 18 most certainly will be a fantastic weekend of entertainment in the peninsula with something for both young and old.

The Convoy to Peninsula Ploughing will take place in Riverstown on Friday 18, Saturday 19 and finishing up on Sunday August 20.

The entertainment kicks off on the Friday night in the specially built marquee, and what a marquee it will be folks. Local kids from various Irish Dancing Schools in the Peninsula will be performing in a Ceilí in the early evening. This will then be followed by music from Matt Leavy and then the legendary Declan Nerney will take to the stage. Admission on Friday night is €15 and kids are free on the night.

On Saturday August 19 the Convoy to Cooley from Ballymascanlon will take place that evening. What a sight it was last year with all the lorries in convoy, it truly was a sight to behold and this year will be even better. Once the convoy is finished and all the trucks are parked up for the night the entertainment in the marquee continues with music from the wonderful Marty Mone and band.

Then the main man himself will take to the stage in Cooley once again! Ireland's number one country singer, Nathan Carter, will entertain the crowd as no one else can. Nathan, who has been packing venues like the 3 Arena in Dublin and SSE arena in Belfast since he last was with us in Cooley will put on a show like no other.

So get your tickets folks in advance! Standing tickets for Saturday night are priced at €25, VIP seated tickets are priced at €30 ( limited availability ) and kids under 16 at €10.

Once the dust has settled on Saturday night the fun and entertainment continues on Sunday August 20 when the vintage and ploughing displays take place.

There will be a fun filled day of activities for both young and old.

The entertainment will continue in the marquee with local country star Henry Mac providing entertainment along with the legendary Hugo Duncan. And if that wasn't enough Michael English will take to the stage in the late afternoon.

All in all a fun day of ploughing displays and music will make for a great weekends fun, and you just never know who else may take to the stage at the Convoy to Peninsula Ploughing ! Watch this space ! Admission on Sunday is €10.
