Big night as Paul celebrates 80th
On Friday night I headed for the Lilywhite Lounge for a special 80th birthday party for Paul O'Kane from Park Drive and there to make sure he had a great night were his kids Mickey and Anna, his partner Agnes McCusker from Park Drive and her kids Pauline, Derek and Helen and a good collection of family and friends.
I was only in the door when I met up with Paul's son Mickey who was there with his wife Leanne from Waterville Crescent who wanted a big shout out for nanny and granda Kate and Paddy who were babysitting their son Conor on the night. Mickey also told me it was going to be a quiet night, something to do with a major game for Muirhevnamor on Sunday!
Two lads who were certainly going to have a busy night were Mark 2 better known as Jim Shevlin and Billy Cairns who were getting ready to fill the dancefloor with all the classic hits that Paul and Agnes love.
Next, I caught up with Paul's daughter Anna Connolly from Blackrock who was with daughters Claire, Seana and Mairead and grandson Blake who wanted to wish Paul all the best on his big night.
After this I did manage to get a quick word with partner Agnes McCusker who was going to make sure Paul had an excellent night!
Making my way over to one of the tables I caught up with Luke Turley who told me there is a 'full one hundred percent to the pound'! He was having a time of it with Margaret Clarke from Aghameen Park and John Hutchinson from Drive Two who wanted to wish Paul all the best on his big night.
Making my way through the crowds I then got taking to Agnes' daughter Pauline McCusker from Park Villas who was with her partner Cormac Myers from Woodville Manor and they assured me that when Agnes and Paul get to celebrating, it was going to be an epic party.
After this I caught up with Agnes' relations Ian and Nora Carroll from Tullyallen who were delighted to be there and wanted to wish all the best to the big man. They were enjoying the company of Agnes' brother Leo Carroll from Belfast who assured me it wasn't going to be a quiet night when they all got together for a celebration.
I then had the pleasure of talking to Seana Connolly from Blackrock who said she was with sisters Orla and Mairead and her son Blake who was the centre of attention while he was there.
Making my way through the crowds I caught up with Eamonn Carroll from Rockfield Manor who was ready to have a laugh on the night with uncle Leo and aunty Agnes.
I made my way over to a table where I got talking to Phyllis and Peter Keenan from Seafield Lawns who wanted to wish Paul all the best on his big night and to tell him they love him to bits.
Finally, before I departed, I met up with Paul's grandson Ciaran Connolly from Blackrock who was just after arriving in with his fiancée Snead Gartland from Kilcurry and they wanted to wish all the best to Paul on his 80th.
