Amy and Colin celebrate turning 50 in Toale's bar
I headed for the Marquee in Toales on Friday night for a special 50th birthday party for Amy Leonard from Blackwater Court who was celebrating her 50th with her partner Colin Campbell, sisters Janet and Ann, brothers Alan (who was playing in the band The Badgers) and David who was with son Callum and a huge selection of well wishers.
I wasn't too long in the door when I met up with the birthday girl who had turned her back on presents and had asked everyone to make a donation to the Birches on the night.
I then headed for a table where I caught up with my old friend Adele Kehoe from The Meadows who was sitting with Mary Rice from St. Gerards Square who was with husband Brendan who was "somewhere".
The ladies were sitting having a major laugh with Ann Bellew from St. Josephs Park, Paddy Matthews from Medebawn and Angela Marron from Culhane Street who wanted to wish Amy a very happy birthday.
After this I caught up with Lisa and Edwina Craven from Phillipstown who were joined by Jackie Dawe from O'Hanlon Park, Ann Skehan and Briege Laverty both from Greenacres who certainly know how to party.
Also in their company were Mary Todd from Greenacres, Marie Killeen from St. Alphonsus Villas, Paddy Rafferty, Myra Hamilton from Heynestown and daughter and husband Antoinette and Caoimhín McEnteggart from Seafield Lawns who were there to make sure that Amy had an immense night.
After this met up with Maura McEnteggart and Noeleen Farrell from Greenacres, Colin Perry, Marie McCutcheon from Meadow View, Majella Walsh from Ashbrook and Rosie Gray from The Meadows who were really enjoying the great songs being blasted out by the band.
Finally, before I departed I got talking to sisters-in-laws Frances and Catherine Kerr both from Hyde Park who were up for making it a real night to remember with Sandra Boyle and Rosemary Lennon both from Blackrock and Catherine Clarke from Avondale Park who wanted to wish all the best to Amy on her big night and were really enjoying the celebrations.
