On the panel with Johnny Ward this week is the Herald's Niall Cronin, John Brennan from the Sunday World and Shane Mahon from Ladbrokes.

With the first of the football qualifiers and quarter-finals between Down v Monaghan, Kildare v Armagh, Kerry v Galway and Roscommon v Mayo, Sligo manager, Niall Carew, gives his run down of the clashes and it's hard to see past the favourites, though Carew expects a possible upset for Galway over Kerry.

It's a big week in racing with the King George and Goodwood Festivals in the UK plus the highlight of the Galway Races on the Irish calendar.

Trainer Gordon Elliott will be trying to win the Galway Hurdle after three second-placed finishes and is hopeful this could be his year with Timiyan an early favourite.

The Punter's Platform Bets of the Week are:

- Niall Cronin is going for Enable in the King George

- Shane Mahon fancies a double of Down in the handicap and Monaghan to win and is tipping Idaho or Desert Encounter in the King George

- John Brennan says go for the favourites in the football (Kerry, Monaghan, Kildare, Mayo) and Sandymount Duke in the Galway Plate

- And Johnny Ward is tipping Twilight Payment in Down Royal plus Mayo in the handicap
