On this week's Punter's Platform, Johnny Ward is joined by a team of expert pundits to preview the sporting action from a betting perspective.

Never mind the horse racing, soccer or GAA bets, Johnny Ward and the Punter's Platform of Niall Cronin, Donnchadh Boyle, John Brennan and Michael Verney from INM plus Shane Mahon from Ladbrokes, started this week's show on the unlikely topic of Fine Gael's leadership race.

Leo Varadkar is an unbackable 1/7 but with Trump and Brexit happening, maybe an outside bet on Simon Coveney could be worth a punt?

Back to more familiar territory, there's a preview of the Dante Festival in York and the racing at Newbury, while the GAA season really kicks off with Tipp v Cork in Munster and the Ulster and Leinster football championships.

In their bets of the week, Somehow in Newbury is the Punter's Platform racing tip while Johnny Ward is going for Galway Utd at home in the League of Ireland, John Brennan fancies a Longford win in Leinster, and Michael Verney and Donnchadh Boyle are both going for GAA trebles involving Longford, Tipp, Louth, Monaghan, Wexford.
