Ger Dundon

When Darren McClean, a Limerick man, was jailed for 15 years in the UK last week for his part in a kidnapping and blackmail plot, a video clip of his arrest back in 2020 went viral.

Driving a yellow transit van, McClean - better known as Ger Dundon, a senior figure in one of the country's most dangerous crime gangs - was stopped by Staffordshire Police where a half-naked man on a dirty mattress was discovered cowering in the back of the vehicle.

He was one of two men kidnapped and blackmailed in a plot Dundon was jailed for last week. As he joins other siblings behind bars, the Indo Daily looks back on the criminal career of Dundon, his associates their reign of terror in Limerick over the decades.

To hear more, presenter Siobhán Maguire is joined by Paul Williams, Special Correspondent at the Irish Independent, and author of Murder Inc, the rise and fall of the Dundon crime family in Limerick
