Twenty years on, it's more clear than ever Veronica died in vain

Vicious drug lords are still at large and so we need a stronger deterrent in the ongoing war against them, writes Willie Kealy

All wars usually end in defeat for one side and victory for the other, and whatever disagreement started the war is sorted.

The war on drugs is not like that. It has been going on for ages with no end in sight.

Twenty years after the murder of Veronica Guerin, who campaigned courageously against the scourge of drug dealers in this country, we have made little if any progress in this battle.
