• I have just recently had the pleasure of reading an article in your 'Business Week' (Irish Independent, September 27) about the Dublin Zoo and the efforts of Leo Oosterweghel and felt that I would like to make some comment.
I have known Leo for approximately 20 years, first meeting him when I was CEO of the Royal Zoological Society of South Australia, while he was working in the Northern Territory.
I have followed his career with interest and am aware that he is a man with great vision and exceptional talents. Actually, it was over a dinner in Prague in 2001 that Leo told me that he had accepted the position at Dublin Zoo. Having seen Dublin Zoo in 1995, I knew that he was undertaking a significant challenge.
