Why jobs are not just for the Irish
EMMA Smith ('Irish jobs should go to our own', Letters, February 18) ends by saying: "While I have no problem whatsoever with foreign nationals . . ." She could have saved space by saying, "I'm not a racist, but . . ."
Does Emma want to live in an open and free society or not? It's either/or, I'm afraid, Emma.
I am quite sure Aer Lingus is demonstrating that it is an equal-opportunities employer -- as any national carrier does -- or perhaps it just hired the best people available.
