Well said Enda, now get down off the soap box

WOW, what a great speech by Enda Kenny! He has the whole country on his side, the people have gone hysterical. At last, someone to stand up to the church.

The Government wants to break the seal of confession and the Papal Nuncio expelled -- and the media are clapping the Government on the back. Ruari Quinn wants all the schools taken out of the hands of the church, Eamon Gilmore is bringing the church in for a dressing down and never once does the State share the blame.

We all know the details of the wrongdoings by certain men and women who belonged to the church. Hopefully justice will prevail now. Millions have been paid in compensation to the victims and apology after apology has been made. Is the same drum going to be beaten forever? We don't expect Germany to keep paying for World War Two.

I suppose the church has become an easy target, or maybe it's to take the attention away from the State, which is not blameless.

So let justice be done, but skip the broken record -- and Enda, you can get off your little soap box and start running the country properly.

Oh, and by the way, next time we might spare a thought for all the good priests, nuns and lay people who give up their lives for the underprivileged of society, along with missionary work, hospital care, working in schools etc. But of course, that wouldn't cause hysteria.
