Unthinking obedience to Rome will not save the Church

• Now that the Eucharistic Congress is over, where do we go from here? I assume we turn our attention to the radical reformation of the Catholic Church in Ireland that the Archbishop of Dublin has often called for. Sadly, it could become a forlorn hope as the Vatican is intent on stamping on the slightest sign of imaginative leadership.
What is continually debilitating is the tendency of Rome to equate the critical voice with dissent, with an over-emphasis on the Church's teaching as if it had nothing to learn.
