United we stand, divided we fall
• It's hard not to get frustrated when you see the former residents of Priory Hall forced to march through the streets of the capital to remind us all of their ongoing plight, facing into their second Christmas away from their homes.
We Irish may be great at uniting and looking after each other, in places like Melbourne, Sydney and others, but we are not so great at looking after each other at home.
We treat the Priory Hall saga no different to any other scandalous affair. We read about it, we feel angry, we tweet about it, we type a rant on Facebook about it and then, ultimately, we forget about it. And it seems that's what the powers that be bank on, our relative indifference to anything that doesn't directly interfere with our daily lives.
