Under-35s should be eligible for Aras run

WITH all the current discussion about the upcoming presidential election and possible candidates, it is highly disappointing that no prospective candidate has announced that they will end the archaic ruling whereby a citizen must be 35 to be elected President.

In an era where real political reform is now a possibility, surely a simple constitutional amendment could at least increase the democratic credibility of the highest office in the state?

It is appalling that politicians such as Leo Varadkar and Lucinda Creighton are deemed good enough to be ministers but not good or old enough to run for President, if so inclined.
