Too green by far

• I don't know whether I am amused or bemused. I voted in the recent referendum and voted No. Most of the people I talk to say they didn't vote, but if they had it would have been No.

As I look around me, all I see is Green, White and Gold bunting and Irish flags -- they're hanging from telegraph poles, lamp-posts, upstairs windows, and on almost every car you pass on the road. Yet these people didn't vote.

Had all the people, who in the last few days put up these frivolous decorations in their cars, windows and gardens, gone out and voted then maybe not just our own Government but Ms Merkel and the rest of the Europeans would have got the message that the Irish are strong and united.
