Time for calming cup of tea . . .
ALLOW me to congratulate David Quinn on a most excellent and balanced article on the US Tea Party (Irish Independent, October 22).
His article is the first I have read by an Irish commentator that lacks the usual condescension, snootiness and false generalisations I have come to associate with Irish commentators on all things American-Conservative. Mr Quinn must be delighted that his critics read his articles so closely, with Robert Mauk (Letters, October 23) feeling obliged to lecture Mr Quinn on whether tea was exported or imported 237 years ago.
Take a chill pill, Mr Mauk.
