There's no such thing as European 'partners'

Why, why, why does Irish society, particularly in media and political circles, still refer to the EU bureaucrats as our European "partners"?

Surely, at this late stage in the EU/IMF money-making/taking game, we can all realise that calling them our partners is like the mouse calling the starving, angry, cash-strapped cat the same.

Seldom does a day go by where we are not told just how much our European partners care for us, or how they want the best for us but how we have to pay astronomical sums of money for the privilege.

Now is the time for us to stop this delusion of equality towards the Continent. It stopped last November and the sooner we catch up, the better.
