The full picture

• Reading your condemnation of the printing of photographs in a Mauritian newspaper of the remains of Michaela McAreavey, the words pot and kettle come to mind. Your newspaper regularly distastefully publishes photographs of dead bodies in its world news section, the difference in conscience being, that they are unknown to us and therefore it is somehow perceived as less outrageous.

It might be a fitting tribute to the memory of Mrs McAreavey if the Irish Independent would in future desist from publishing photographs of the deceased.
