Stopping 'lone-wolf' attacks and protecting our citizens
Good to see that placing barriers on our streets to protect people against a 'lone-wolf terrorist' reached your front page (Irish Independent, April 22).
Motorised vehicles are readily available weapons, and pedestrians and cyclists are vulnerable targets. Barriers on the streets can protect them.
It would be even better if such protection could go beyond special events. To my knowledge, no special event was under way in London or Stockholm when the terrorists struck this year. And a Christmas market can hardly be called a special event in Germany, with so many of them in every city.
