Stability my foot
• So that is what the present government strategy is all about -- "stability" ('Labour won't call for Reilly's resignation', October 6). It matters for nothing that ministers might have let standards drop or messed up, "stability" is sacrosanct, and so calling for good, open and transparent governance and behaviour must take a back seat, according to Eamon Gilmore.
But hang on a second, what about "stability" for the rest of us? Those in massive negative equity, those losing their jobs and homes, those being forced to emigrate?
When considered in the round the "stability" that Gilmore is talking about becomes very apparent -- "stability" so that he and his grasping colleagues can put in the necessary time in office to get their hands on the bloated pensions that await them.
