ACCORDING to the Tanaiste, "government policies" were the reason why there was an abundance of jobs in Ireland during the Celtic Tiger era, (in a speech, June 4, 2004). But now she says that jobs are being lost due to "external factors".
The main reason that Ryanair decided to create 200 engineering jobs in Scotland, rather than at Dublin Airport, was because of the questionable policy of Mary Coughlan's own department.
And where was Transport Minister Noel Dempsey during this debacle? Isn't this partly his responsibility too?
