Small world

•To add to Tony Wallace's sentiments, the Irish walloping of the Wallabies was one amazing event. And yet -- and maybe it's that I'm an Englishman and suffering from a cultural blindspot -- the GAA All Ireland Final game between two areas of this island has completely taken prominence over the global victory over Australia.

Even RTE, which advertised the rugby highlights on RTE 2, altered the programme to discuss the dramatic, last-gasp winning kick in the GAA game for an hour. I realise we non-Irish on this island have to respect local culture so I'll leave it at that.
