Senate not worth a hill of 'beens'
We now have the scramble for the Senate seats in full swing. Is it too much to hope for that we will not see it stuffed with the usual beens -- the hasbeens, couldabeens, shouldabeens, mightabeens and, of course, the gombeens?
Alas, we will most likely see it used as the usual subs' bench and home for the rejected.
Is it any wonder there is a move to get rid of it?
