Selfless humanity in aid response

Following the devastation of the recent earthquake in Haiti, one of the poorest countries in the world, the response from individuals, organisations and nations has been commendable.

In this effort, the US has really shown genuine leadership.

I was really impressed and humbled by the speed of their response and level of material and human commitment.

I found myself musing, this is definitely a welcome invasion.

At a time when the reputation of the US has been nothing more than notorious, this act of selfless humanity needs to be singled out for commendation.

I hope this is a sign of a changing culture for that nation.
