Seeing red over green energy

SENATOR Mark Deary of the Greens states: "Clean Irish energy, emission-free driving. What's wrong with that?" (Letters, April 22).

Quite a lot, Mr Deary, if we break it down.

> Clean: Doubtful, as no matter how many wind farms and tidal projects we build, it won't supply enough power to the national grid. So we will have to import dirty coal or nuclear- produced energy.
