Rural exodus

• I agree with Donal Buckley's comments regarding the dangers of banks curtailing loans to the regional mortgage market.

The other issue that is having a huge impact on the regional markets is mass internal migration and/or emigration.

I don't have the statistics, but aside from emigration there are signs of strong patterns of movement within Ireland from rural towns and villages to the main urban centres, where job prospects are better.
