• Although I understand the argument regarding high house prices in Dublin causing an unfair balance between urban and rural dwellers, the idea that the majority of rural dwellers are living in mansions is ridiculous.
I don't know anyone in my locality living in any great luxury. Having more land to build on has nothing to do with what the tax is for, ie services, of which we have none, not even a sprinkling of salt and grit during the two severe winters.
People in cities have access to great services and I think they should be the ones to pay for them.
