RTE ignores good news

Sir -- While Ireland continues to meet the ECB/IMF requirements for its bailout from the recent recession and has not put out its hand for more, I see that Greece continues to bluff its way and is in line for an €8bn injection from the aforementioned junta even though it continues to renege on all its milestones. Do we need to tell the current 'visitors' to the Department of Finance to 'get stuffed' and do the same?

Also, I live in Waterford, which has suffered from significant job losses in recent years and has received little help from central government. Yet a success story, namely Genzyme, employing 500 people, organised a significant event to showcase its state-of-the-art facility and the visit of a number of corporate and political dignitaries and got about 10 seconds on RTE's 9 o'clock News. For RTE does the selling of news only apply to bad news stories and not success stories ?
