• Manchester United are the club I have supported since the late 1950s, and having read in yesterday's Irish Independent articles by both James Lawton and Paul Hayward, whom I admire as top sports writers, I wonder was Roy Keane right or wrong about the current Manchester United team.
In my opinion, as someone who never played at a decent level, Roy was right to speak out and tell the truth. Alex Ferguson is the greatest British manager of all time, but as a European manager he falls short. He has managed in over 20 European seasons and won twice -- once against Bayern Munich, which was won with the last kick of the game; and the other against Chelsea on penalties.
Going out so early this year will save me and Manchester United a great deal of embarrassment. Roll on next year, and changes.
