'Robo' rugby

l As a medical doctor, I view Ireland's 60-0 defeat to New Zealand with great concern, and seriously wonder about the future health and safety of our international players.

What I saw was exhausted athletes whose health was put at risk. I seriously feel that some outside agency should be sent into the IRFU to look at player safety and health.

The facts speak for themselves. This has been a 51-week season and our team has played 17 international test matches. Throw into this all the Heineken and Celtic league matches -- not to mention the friendlies and the world travel.
