Reilly's morals

• The Health Minister James Reilly must come to his senses and reverse his wholly counter-productive social and domestic policy in relation to effectively abolishing the HSE's home help service.

The one hour basic provision must remain, and an entire revision of the Government's draconian measures against the aged, the dying, and any individual who requires home help, must be undertaken immediately.

It is utterly inane to interfere with this service provider system which allows those in dire need of assistance to stay at home rather than being compelled to go into hospital which would cost the State millions of euros. For a paltry wage, thousands of mainly women offer their expert, efficient and humane services in a spirit of self-sacrifice in order to ease suffering and impart self-confidence at home to countless people who depend upon them.
