Reilly and reason

• I am writing in response to today's article 'No more explanations over care sites -- Reilly' (Irish Independent October 2). I have read Minister Reilly's explanations for the addition of two locations for primary healthcare facilities in his own constituencies, given to the Dail on September 27.

Basically, Roisin Shortall compiled a list of 20 locations for primary care centres, using one set of criteria. Dr Reilly then decided (for various reasons) the list was too short, and used a different set of criteria to add a further 15 locations to the list.

Stroke politics or not, the issue for me here is the lack of coherence and clarity in deciding on something as important as the potential location of primary healthcare centres.
