Quinn workers should be happy to have jobs

One of the most nauseating sights in recent times must be the spectacle of Quinn workers protesting in Drumshambo, Co Leitrim, last Friday during the Taoiseach's visit there when they called for the restoration of Sean Quinn as head of the group.

The fact that their jobs are secure must be of great comfort to the workers.

But calling for the reinstatement of the person whose actions led to the difficulties in the first place must be a bridge too far for anyone with a modicum of sense.

And it is not the job of the Government to intervene there.

Meanwhile their actions confirm that the age of gombeenism and "respect your betters" is still alive and well here.
