Quinn needs truth
• I note Sean Quinn's lawyer's comments that his client should not go to prison as he has suffered enough. I have no doubt that he has; compassion is an essential component of civilised society.
However, our country is also suffering and those whom had nothing to do with the reckless investments and risk taking that has brought us to this dark pass, are paying for the catastrophic loss.
While others, who have been complicit, have maintained a stony silence on their role.
Mr Quinn and anyone else who knows anything about vast sums, and why and how they have been lost must lead by example.
The scars of the crash run deep and, if they are to heal, trust must be restored and the law must run its course. Mr Quinn can help his case by proving he has nothing to hide. Truth is always the best defence.
