Today is the first anniversary of the earthquake that struck Haiti, in which 230,000 people died, 300,000 were injured and another one million were left homeless.
Concern is assisting 130,000 people on an ongoing basis in Haiti.
The Irish public has contributed a staggering €8.7m to Concern for its work in Haiti. In the current economic climate this is an act of amazing kindness. I take this opportunity to thank you and your readers and wish you a happy New Year.
