Posh rugby

It was enlightening to read last week's supplement on Irish Schools Rugby written by Tony Ward.

It seems that those of us involved in small, rural, club rugby organisations, with underage and youth teams aspiring to emulate their heroes in the Irish team, should start saving to send our children to "posh" private schools as this is clearly the only way to prove you have talent and can enter the lofty heights of elite rugby.

Perhaps Mr Ward should run a supplement on the club scene and see the hard work and dedication that coaches, participants and parents perform week in and week out -- at no expense to the taxpayer, unlike private schools who still receive government money.
