Portrayal of God offends believers

Madam -- I wish to protest at the depiction of the Almighty that accompanied Declan Lynch's television review on page 40 of Living.

I know famous artists have portrayed Him as bearded and benign -- and even sometimes with a countenance of righteous indignation. Of course, nobody really knows what the Almighty looks like, but He was described in that piece as having all "the attributes of an English country gentleman".

Even with the aid of a magnifying glass, I failed to identify the name of the cartoonist. It's lucky for him that we are living in a tolerant society, otherwise there would be a fatwa out for him and angry believers would amass outside your offices to protest at your insulting cartoon, in which the Almighty was portrayed as a hybrid of Santa Claus and Mick Wallace.
