Pope Benedict is not welcome

The Pope is not welcome to these islands given the disgraceful behaviour of the Vatican and his clergy in response to the systematic sexual violations of our defenceless children.

In recent times, the Pope has refused to accept the resignations of two bishops who were involved in the cover up and named in the Murphy Report.

The Papal Nuncio in Dublin did not answer any requests for information and was not helpful with the report. His pastoral letter to the Irish faithful was hollow in substance and lacked all credibility. The Pontiff should repent and apologise to all the victims of child abuse. Until such time as he addresses these questions, he should hang his head in shame.
