Poorest always pay the price

WB Yeats'S beautiful depiction of self-sacrifice described in the lines "my country is Kiltartan cross, my countrymen Kiltartan's poor" is a sentiment that can go to hell as far as the current Government is concerned.

Every cabinet meeting from now until December will shamefully debate how snide cuts -- targeting only the poor -- can be dressed up as nation-saving acts of patriotism.

This country has been ravaged by a political class that has mastered the art of infiltrating democracy on behalf of the plutocracy, rezoning 'Kiltartan' cross in the process, and making the poor of 'Kiltartan' despised outsiders.
