Political lethargy

• I see that AIB, having been given a €1.1bn bailout from the taxpayer, has now donated a large segment of this donation -- to pay a few of their directors hundreds of thousands a year in pensions.

Why does this not cause disquiet among the Irish public?

My own guess is that it would entail large food queues the length of O'Connell street before the rot sets in. Maybe I'm wrong but I get the impression that Irish people are generally politically lethargic.
