Our local nurses play a vital role

I REFER to the recent edition of RTE's 'The Frontline', which was hosted by Pat Kenny and which focused on the care for those coping with Alzheimer's Disease in their own home.

The show implied that the only support available to this group was either from relatives or community care assistants. There was no reference made to the vital role that community nurses and the community healthcare system provide.

Also absent was any account from the Eastern Health Board of its role in this area.
