Noonan wit is no laughing matter
Having read Fionnan Sheahan's article 'Noonan to bite back on Budget Day with a vengeance' (Irish Independent, December 6), I was taken aback that this particular Budget was being built up as some sort of comedy show at which the "dry wit and sharp analytical skills" of Mr Noonan were to be displayed. Right now, this country needs far more than dry wit or smart-arse comments about a Budget that's going to cripple this country for years to come. Will so-called "sharp analytical skills" get hundreds of thousands of unemployed people back to work? I don't think so.
Mr Noonan, there is a time and a place for this type of nonsense and I really don't think that time is now.
