No, we're not all in this together

MR Cowen has stated that the emphasis in the Budget will be on "cuts" rather than "tax hikes" in a speech in which he also claimed that "we are all in this together".

How can a plan devised by people with incomes in the hundreds of thousands of euro, made up of ministerial, Dail and Seanad salaries and pensions, supplemented by incomes from double jobbing, be credible?

Should those who are about to ask people living on €200 a week to take a cut not be asked to try to get by on such a paltry amount for a year or so?
