No to even more bogus language students

IT was with dismay that I read your paper's recent article which confirmed our new Government's intention to dramatically increase the numbers of foreign English-language students coming to Ireland.

Whilst we must continue to welcome the arrival of thousands of genuine language students, I strongly believe that this invitation should not be extended to non-EU countries.

A sizeable number of "students" have simply used this as a vehicle to gain access to the State and then to remain as economic migrants after their visas expire.
