No time to make any real impact
GEORGE Lee's resignation came as a surprise and a disappointment to most people.
Although I can fully appreciate his frustration at not having the impact he had hoped for, George was naive if he thought he'd have much influence in such a short time. Resigning so soon makes him appear petulant and childish.
Mind you, coming so soon after Enda Kenny's recent media stumbles, it looks bad for Kenny and the Fine Gael old guard too. They look like time-serving seat-warmers rather than a realistic, or even imaginative, alternative to Fianna Fail.
